I do want to suggest the users to update the firmware as I did. I parked it in the parking lot of grocery store and turned this feature on. Lane departure, front collision, gps (which precisely tracks your vehicle location in real time), speed, etc. The dash cam comes with ton loads of features.
The app works amazing in both the platforms (Mac has yet to be tried). I have installed the Dash Cam Viewer on my PC, smartphone and will be doing it on my Mac as well. Due to the pandemic, out of boredom, I had it installed in my new Porsche. I did not even bother checking if the item is undamaged and consistent with what was marketed. I purchased this dash cam more than a year ago but never opened the packaging.

Our Thinkware Dash Cam Viewer app doesn't have any other purpose to use location rather than determining WIFI SSID. We understand that this is for privacy reasons, as the Wi-Fi SSID can be used to obtain location.
Due to iOS 13, we cannot determine the SSID of your smartphone to connect to the Dash Cam Viewer App if the location permission is disabled. This does not require the permission to be on at all times. Hello There, Please note that the Location Permission can be set to "While using the app" and you will have no issue connecting. Are you unable to offer a fix that doesn't track my location 24/7? Do your research on Thinkware’s devices before you make a big purchase during the holidays or you or the recipient may be disappointed. The ability to connect to the device using the App through their dash cam WiFi on iPhone involved enabling location to ‘Always’ after the recent iOS update. Their App only works on iOS 13 if you enable location services to be on all the time, even when not using the app which poses privacy issues. If their App only rates less than two stars, what does this tell you about this company? They’re one of the most expensive dash cam makers yet their ability to keep up with technology is lacking and almost absent. *UPDATED* Pretty sad company that takes 3 months to respond then just cuts and pastes their reply to other reviews when not applicable to the review. * Please contact if you encounter any problems with this app. The functions and usability may differ according to each dash cam model. ▶ Thinkware Dashcam Mobile Viewer is designed for X350 / F750 / F770 / FA700.
